Vaccines & Preventive Care
Vaccines and parasite prevention help protect dogs from serious illnesses, many of which can spread where dogs gather.
That's why Daphne's Doggy Daycare requires current Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella records for every guest — it protects your dog and every friend they play with.
This information is for general educational purposes and is not a substitute for veterinary advice. Please consult your veterinarian regarding your individual dog's healthcare needs.
Common vaccines & prevention
DHPP / DAPP
- A combination vaccine covering distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parainfluenza and parvovirus — serious, contagious diseases.
Bordetella
- Helps protect against one of the common causes of 'kennel cough', a respiratory illness that spreads where dogs are close together.
Canine influenza
- A respiratory virus. Your vet may recommend it depending on your dog's lifestyle and local risk.
Flea prevention
- Fleas cause itching and can carry other parasites. Prevention is easier than treating an infestation.
Tick prevention
- Ticks can carry diseases. Georgia's warm climate means year-round prevention is often recommended.
Heartworm prevention
- Heartworm spreads through mosquito bites and can seriously damage the heart and lungs. Prevention is commonly recommended year-round.
